Ben Nelson

Marine Ecologist and Fisheries Scientist

Ben is a marine ecologist and fisheries scientist working on several projects related to the ecology and management of Pacific salmon. He works closely with collaborators from the Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NOAA) and Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife. His specific areas of interest include population dynamics modeling of fish and marine mammal populations, predator-prey interactions, and Bayesian statistics. Ben completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. at the University of Washington in Seattle, and is currently finishing his Ph.D. in quantitative ecology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
