Salmon are as complex as they are magnificent. In its lifetime, a typical salmon traverses thousands of miles across several ecosystems—from mountainous headwaters down creeks and rivers, through estuaries to the middle of the North Pacific Ocean, and back again.
At Long Live the Kings, we work closely with our partners to highlight key scientific uncertainties obstructing management and recovery, and then we build the collaborations necessary to address them. We work across state and national borders and across numerous scientific disciplines to develop and implement studies, coordinate comprehensive workshops, and create science-based management tools. By producing new evidence to fill critical information gaps, we are making real progress toward salmon recovery and the sustainability of fisheries.
