Mackenzie joined Long Live the Kings in 2026 with nearly a decade of experience in wetland restoration and policy, with a focus on coastal blue carbon. Grounded in a B.S. in Earth and Soil Sciences and an M.S. in Marine Science, she has supported interdisciplinary research and knowledge sharing along both coasts of the United States and internationally in Africa and South America.
Mackenzie is excited to bring her knowledge to the Pacific Northwest, where wetlands are critical habitats in salmon recovery efforts. Focusing on the South Puget Sound and Nisqually Watershed where she resides, Mackenzie works with co-managers, governments, and communities to pair science and local knowledge in support of recovery efforts built to last.
When she’s not in the field or at her desk, you’ll find Mackenzie lost in a craft project or the pages of a book, capturing photos on her travels, or somewhere outdoors chasing simple, unhurried moments in nature.
