Bringing them home… for the long run.

Our mission is to restore wild salmon and steelhead and support sustainable fishing in the Pacific Northwest. Since our founding in 1986, we have combined innovative field work, pioneering science, broad partnerships, and sophisticated new management tools to help decision-makers advance salmon recovery while balancing the needs of fish and people.

Our vision is a Northwest with a growing human population, a thriving economy, and strong and vibrant salmon runs. With your support, we’re making that vision a reality.

jacques-white“At Long Live the Kings, we are guided by a bold proposition: Salmon are central.”

They’re at the heart of our region’s culture, history, and economy. Alongside towering evergreens, snow-capped peaks, and vast expanses of open water, salmon make the northwest The Northwest. Like those other majestic resources, salmon are a big part of what brought many of us to this mossy corner of the world; now we must work together to bring them home. I invite you to learn about our history, discover our current work, attend an event, and get the latest updates on our blog. Thank you for your support!

JACQUES WHITE | Executive Director

lltk-founder-jim-youngren-with-sonLong Live the Kings was founded in 1986 by a group of salmon enthusiasts alarmed by the decline of wild salmon.

Convinced of the long-term need for habitat protection and restoration, LLTK’s founders were intrigued by the potential for rebuilding and sustaining wild salmon populations in the near term. Could hatcheries, working in concert with habitat restoration, help restore wild salmon and support sustainable fisheries? Now in our 30th year, our work, and our impact, has grown beyond that early vision, and expanded throughout the Pacific Northwest and into Canada. OUR HISTORY >

lltk-eventEach year, LLTK hosts several annual and many special events. These events present a great opportunity to get involved with our work.
