Brent Kawamura is a sustainability professional with more than a decade of experience across consumer products, retail and food operations, and the built environment.
He currently serves as Product Sustainability Manager at REI Co‑op, where he helps shape and lead the co‑op’s approach to product‑level climate action and supply chain standards. His work focuses on advancing product circularity, low-carbon materials, and scope 3 carbon accounting, with a strong emphasis on data integrity, traceability, and aligning product decisions with REI’s decarbonization goals.
Brent began his career in green building consulting, where he managed building design and construction projects aligned with leading sustainability certification standards. He also held sustainability leadership roles at PCC Community Markets, the nation’s largest cooperative grocery retailer, where he led multi‑year initiatives across climate, waste, packaging, energy, and water.
Outside of the office, Brent enjoys spending time outdoors backpacking, hiking, and fishing across the Puget Sound and beyond.
