Chris Nelson

Associate General Counsel, Microsoft

Chris leads a cross-disciplinary team at Microsoft that is focused on proactively addressing enterprise risk, with a particular focus on the use of AI, data, and analytics to detect and mitigate emerging risks. Chris and his team also build and operate special control functions for Microsoft, for example to meet the company’s obligations under the Digital Markets Act in Europe.

In his spare time, Chris is a passionate advocate for salmon recovery and sustainable fishing, and he enjoys time on the water with friends and family in both Washington and Alaska. Chris lives in Seattle with his wife and two daughters, both in high school, while his oldest is enjoying student life at the University of Edinburgh.
