Knowledge Bites: How Shared Stories of Success and Challenges Build a Salmon Constituency
November 4 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm PST
Salmon recovery depends on people who care, and people come to care through stories. On November 4, join us for an hour with Willie Frank III (Qua-Lash-Qud), where he’ll share how honest stories, of both success and struggle, can bring more people into the work of protecting salmon and the rivers and communities they sustain. Hope you can join us!
Willie Frank III, also known as Qua-Lash-Qud is a respected leader from the Nisqually Tribe and the son of treaty rights champion Billy Frank Jr. and Susan Crystal, advocate for Native communities. Raised at Frank’s Landing, a center of the Fishing Wars, Willie carries on his father’s work defending treaty rights and salmon. A former Tribal Council member, he is now Director of Education at Wa He Lut Indian School, President of the Billy Frank Jr. Legacy Institute, and CEO of Medicine Creek Tribal Strategies.
